Terms of use

By using Airportly you agree to these terms. They are short, and written to be read.

What Airportly is

Airportly is a free, independent information service run by Tómas Elí Stefánsson, a private individual in Denmark. It is not affiliated with any airport, airline or authority, and is not an official source. See how Airportly works.

Use it to prepare, not as the final word

We check official guidance carefully, but it can change, be incomplete, or differ by terminal, lane and day, and traveler reports are individual experiences. Always follow the instructions of security staff and the airport's own information. Airportly is provided as it is, and to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that result from relying on it, such as items being taken at security or delays.

When you share a report

  • Share only your own experience from the last 7 days, honestly.
  • Don't submit reports automatically or on someone else's behalf.
  • In the private note, leave out personal details, links and anything about security weaknesses.
  • You give Airportly a free, non-exclusive permission to store your answers, display them without your name or contact details (individually or as counts), moderate them and analyse them, only to run Airportly and only for as long as they are kept (see Privacy). Airportly doesn't claim ownership of what you share.

How reports are moderated

  • Automatic checks run before a report is saved: limits on how often one person can report, a check for automated programs, and a minimum time to fill in the form. An unusual burst of reports for one airport is held until the editor has looked at it.
  • Anyone can flag a report as fake, a duplicate or something else. When three different people have flagged it, it is hidden automatically until the editor has reviewed it.
  • The editor, a person, reviews held and flagged reports and private notes, and then publishes, hides or removes them. We hide or remove reports that look fake, duplicated or automated, that break these terms, or that are illegal.
  • Reports aren't linked to a name or contact details, so we can't tell the person who shared a report when we hide or remove it.

Reporting a problem

To report illegal content or a mistake, write to hello@airportly.net in English. Please include the page or report (its address, or the airport and date), why you think it is illegal or wrong, your name and email address, and a statement that what you tell us is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. We confirm that we received it, look at it promptly and fairly, and tell you what we decided. If you disagree, reply and we will look at it again; you can also take the matter to the courts.

Authorities can contact us at the same address, in Danish or English.

Fair use

Don't try to get around rate limits or bot protection, manipulate what travelers reported, overload the service, or copy it wholesale.

Other websites

We link to airports, authorities and other sources. We aren't responsible for their content.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the current version is always on this page, with its date. These terms are governed by the law of Denmark, which doesn't take away any mandatory rights you have where you live. Questions: hello@airportly.net.
